    Summary

It’s surprisingly easy to find Fushiguro Megumi when he finally has the time to do it. It takes him a few days of hanging around the neighborhood to run into the boy, but when he does, he’s something else.

There Megumi is, looking like the spitting image of his father, giving Gojou a skeptical look, with absolutely no idea that he’s going to change Gojou’s life forever.

    Summary

As Satoru, Suguru, and Sukuna wind closer together, other things begin to unravel.

“You said the most effective way to help the orchids thrive in their unnatural environment was to hack them apart. Break them. Quite violently, might I add. But you also said their roots are more than hardy enough to survive it.” He reaches out and caresses Satoru’s cheek, causing him to whimper in his bondage. “And, here we have an orchid. Meant to cling, very beautiful because of it. And yet prone to a certain… illness… in this unnatural environment. He can be improved by being broken. And he will return to clinging again, as he’s meant to.” He holds Satoru in one arm as he cuts the rope with another, and on cue, Satoru wraps his arms and legs around Sukuna and cries sweet, open tears of relief.

    Summary

Yuuji felt like his gut was going to drop right through him and onto the floor. There was something so horribly unnerving about it, about those blue eyes that glowed out at him from the gloom.

The way that there were more than two, blinking and winking and swivelling independently at him. Craning around to observe him better.

Were they on his face? No, they couldn’t be. There were too many and they moved too much.

Then the sunglasses were back on and the extra eyes disappeared too.

“I think you know exactly who I am, Itadori Yuuji.”

It was Six Eyes. He knew that. He could never forget.

Six Eyes tilted his head and pushed himself upright. He took a few casual steps towards Yuuji, but he stopped just at the edge of the forest. “You weren’t scared of me last time. What happened? What did that sensei of yours tell you?”

    ----------

After Amanai's death, it was Gojou, not Getou, who crumbled under the pressure and left.
Ten years later, Itadori Yuuji barrels into Getou's life, and brings with him a familiar and very unwelcome shadow.

    Summary

Suguru begins to wonder if it’s lonely for Gojo. Keeping an inch between him and the world.

Not an inch, a voice that sounds suspiciously like Shoko reminds him. Infinity.

But does it feel like infinity? When summer’s humidity swells to its peak, can Gojo feel the pressure? When a barrage of low-level curses ambushes them in Roppongi, can he sense their velocity, the twist of the wind? When Suguru grazes the immovable space between them – hands him a test paper, shoulders past him in the corridor, reaches out, unthinking, to slap him on the back – does Gojo know the warmth of Suguru's skin?

Then, on July 12th, in a sour-smelling alley in Katsushika ward, Suguru catches him. Hunched over, spindly legs crouched, a street-worn cat pressing her nose to his fingertips. It licks her sandpaper tongue over his knuckles. Rubs the flat of her forehead against his palm. Gojo hums, pushing a tangled cowlick back with his thumb, a serene little smile on his face.

Yes, Suguru thinks. It must be lonely.

(Trauma is complicated, brains are strange, and Satoru Gojo is not immune to either of these truths.)
