Dokja is the wife. The villain kills him. He is the one set to die.
He doesn't want to die, so he decides to do everything he can to survive until the villain meets the main character, throws divorce papers at Dokja's face, and Dokja, obviously heartbroken, can safely exit with his large sum of alimony to the faraway lands.
The villain meets the main character. Dokja waits. The divorce papers never arrive.
If anything, even mentioning divorce seems to upset his contracted husband.

After transmigrating into a fantasy webnovel with the best world-building but worst plot he had ever seen, Kim Dokja removed himself from the story as much as possible to open an apothecary as far away as the System would allow. He has no need to be a part of a trashy romance where the soon-to-be-King spends his time killing monsters, sleeping with enough women to make other harem love interests' jaws drop, or killing anyone who rejects him or looks at him funny. At least the A/B/O thing is a minor plotline..
So when the heroically injured protagonist turns up on his doorstep a little while before the main plot begins, Kim Dokja slams the door in Crown Prince Yoo Joonghyuk's face. (He resolves to do this every time the male lead comes back. Unfortunately, between him and the door, the door's breaking first.)

It was very different, in a sense, to not have to fear for his life or the safety of those close to him every passing moment. It was nice, almost pleasurable. But Kaneki had forgotten what pleasure felt like, so he couldn’t be entirely sure. Although, he was fairly certain being able to sit down in the mornings, have a freshly brewed cup of coffee, read a couple chapters of his book, and go about the rest of his day freely and peacefully was indeed enjoyable.
