“You.. got me a gift?” Ness says slowly, as if the idea of it was unfathomable. He eyes the box in his hand suspiciously, as if something would jump out at him any second now.
“Yes Ness, that’s how Christmas works,” Kaiser sighs. He motions towards the watch that Ness had gifted him seconds prior. “You got me something, and I got you something in return.”
Or, in which Ness finds himself undeserving of Kaiser's gift.

"W- wait!" he called out. He didn't know why. The blond was just uttering nonsense. Why did Alexis want him to stay?
"Could you please tell me your full name? I don't think I caught it," Alexis asked shyly as he fidgeted with his hands.
"Tsk. It's Michael Kaiser. You won't forget it, I promise you that," the blond, Kaiser, announced.
That might have been one of the few promises Kaiser never broke, not even until the very end.

“One bright soul even speculated you might be retiring early and move to the Bahamas,” Kaiser huffed a laugh at that. “Yeah that’s what I thought too, you really should’ve told me about it before posting a cryptic story like that and letting me find out from a hidden gem genius detective sports blogger under the enviable alias ‘Kaisersleftpinkietoe’ a bit disrespectful really.”

During the off season the media refuses to let go of Kaiser's supposed being a terrible boyfriend, to combat this the man himself soft launches Ness; a completely valid and normal response to the problem.
