Before he can truly think through his actions, or their possible consequences, Diluc brings Childe’s jersey up to his face and inhales deeply, nose pressed against the fibres of fabric. The smell of sweat barrages him, mixed with layers of deodorant. There’s a tinge of something else, too, buried beneath the stench of sweat. A natural scent, of grass and salt and earth, and tangerine body wash. It should be off putting. It should be disgusting.
It shouldn't turn him on.

“Well…” Diluc huffed, averting his eyes, a forlorn smile making its way onto his face. “I believe that you think so.”
“I do think so.” He echoed, tracing a little heart over his breast with his index finger, though whether Diluc noticed the intention of the shape, Childe couldn’t be sure. “I think they’re part of what makes you so handsome, y’know?”
Diluc looked at him with a confused dent in his brow, utterly lost.

Summary
It was good. It was so good. But good was only that.
Diluc always found himself back here. Whenever he tried to distract himself with thoughts of the positives, they looped back around and shoved a negative in his face, sending him reeling and off put, staring into the middle-distance with a bleak expression and blank mind. He didn’t know how to break this cycle, so he opted to ignore it, instead.

Kabukimono wakes on the beach to the sound of the waves. Dendrobiums curl and bloom around him on the sand, delicate crimson petals surrounding his head like spilled blood. The air is tinged with an electro current, thrumming like a pulse.
Gulls caw overhead, darting in and out of the wispy clouds that drift in the blue, blue sky. The sun beats down upon him from above, warming his body as the cold water swirls around his legs.
“Kabukimono,” comes a gentle voice. “What are you doing out here?”
Scaramouche falls from the Shouki no Kami and is met by visions of a past life.

“Sorry, Yoshiki,” Hikaru groans as tears come out of one eye and more of him comes out of the other. “Ughh, I don’t – ”
Yoshiki can see how hard he’s trying to calm himself down, but it just isn’t working.
“It’s ok,” Yoshiki says, quiet. “It’s ok. Instead of shovin’ it back inside completely, can you try just...lettin’ it out? Just a little bit?”
He has no clue how any of this works, but maybe a half-measure is better than trying to force it all at once.
“Okay,” Hikaru says, but it sounds like a sob. More of the unknowable, incomprehensible swirl leaks out into the dark room.
“Yoshiki – shit – ‘m sorry but can I…” Hikaru’s face – what’s visible behind the bloom of him – twists in a small kind of agony. “Can I touch you? Not much. Just – ”
It's been years since Hikaru first took the body of Yoshiki's dead best friend. Despite everything - every horror and hurt - they managed to find a home in each other. Not quite friends or family. More and not. What they have is complicated, but precious.
But when Yoshiki escapes their small town – to college, to Tokyo – Hikaru follows. And things start to change for them both.
