Summary
Commander Amerilyse Shepard. Hero of the Skyllian Blitz. If only they knew how much blood is in her ledger. His voice drops low and his expression softens, trying his best to soothe you despite the maelstrom in his mind. “Easy,” he starts. ”I’m not going to hurt you. Look at me. It’s me, okay? It’s Jack. Just me. I’m here. Baby, what happened?”
Your eyes are glassy, gaze distant, and at first, you don’t say anything at all. You just stare at him blankly, as if you’re looking right through him. It takes you a moment to register that he’s speaking to you, that you’re meant to answer. You blink a few times, seeming to struggle to formulate a response.
“It’s cold,” is all you manage to say.
It feels like he’s been punched in the gut.
