Blood is thicker than water. It’s weird isn’t it, a phrase that used to mean that found family is a more real, more important, more understanding family than the one you are born into, but it has been warped and manipulated over centuries to mean just what the person telling you wants it to.
That’s why I hate it, but alas no one can control what others do. However, there will always be someone who sees between the lines and helps guide even the ‘monsters’ of society to either the light or the deepest parts of our underworld. I find comfort in the quiet and I hope that when I am older, I can lead others to the solace they so desperately need too. Without having to hide from those blinded by the Governments lies.
I’m cuddled between dad and papa when the conversation starts, an old boring action movie that someone from grabbed from the outside before coming back in was playing on the flatscreen TV. Heroes. Why were they so important to the outside world? Yokohama was doing perfectly fine without them so they can’t be that important or necessary. So, I asked them “What is so special about heroes in the outside world?” dad and papa glanced, slightly nervous, at each other
“Well in the outside world they are stupid and can’t take care of themselves so the have to rely on those silly heroes you know” her dad replied in a silly accent hoping to take some edge of the topic.
A swift punch landed on dad’s right shoulder as papa, slightly annoyed, continued “what this damn bastard means is that on the outside some people find hope in having a major figure to look up to and lots of people profit from it, ok Ochako?” A gentle smile tugged at papa’s lips. Satisfied with the answers that I had been given, I slowly started to centre my attention back to the movie now looking at it with newfound curiosity trying to find where the heroes really help those in need. I couldn’t.
Next to Ochako, the two halves of Soukoku exchanged nervous glances what if she became to engrossed with the heroes and how the outside world operates? A silent agreement is made between the deadliest duo in the whole of Yokohama.
