Buck didn’t come to the door; there was no sound of movement inside. He was probably still sleeping. She dug through her purse for the spare key. She could let herself in, tidy the place up and get breakfast started. It’d be nice for Buck to wake up to a home cooked meal and a clean house. Buck had done that for her when she got home from the hospital after Braeburn. He meal prepped a week’s worth of dinners and deep cleaned the entire house and then ended up looking after Jee for the rest of the day so she and Howie could get settled in.
Where had she put that key? It wasn’t on the ring with the rest of them. She must have squirreled it away. If she left it at home she was going to—oh, there it was, tucked into the zippered side pocket, put there for safekeeping. Before she even had time to fit it into the lock, the door swung open to—
“Tommy?” she said, taking a step back.

Summary
After learning the truth about why he was born, Buck makes the most deliberate choice of his life: he applies to Asterbridge House, a private matchmaking service he’s been saving for since he was eighteen, because more than anything, he wants a spouse, children, and a home that lasts.
He does not expect to be matched with Tommy Kinard.
Tommy is older, steadier, richer, and far better at seeing through Buck than Buck is ready for. He listens carefully, kisses gently, and makes room for Buck exactly as he is, which would be easier to enjoy if Buck’s family didn’t think he was making a mistake. Summary
Buck did it - he saved Bobby and Chimney from the super virus. In the middle of it all, his senses came online, showing him as a Sentinel.
Only as a newly booted up grade five Sentinel, things aren't exactly easy on him. He'll need a Guide and learn how to deal with his new senses without zoning every second of the day. If only he didn't feel calmer around Tommy than any Guide he'd met. And on top of it all, his place at the 118 seems to be falling apart as well.
Things could be easy, but they weren't. For now at least. Who knew what could happen?
