“And that’s Hatake Kakashi, he’s kind of…quiet, but-” He knows the snort is from Genma, probably nudging Radoui. For some reason the long-haired teen enjoys teasing Kakashi more than he does the others. Not responding is a favorite way of irritating him right back.
“Hatake Kakashi!” The loud, boisterous voice proclaims from right in front of him. Tearing his eyes painfully away from the solace of his book, he intends to stare at the floor while being addressed, but finds a pair of ridiculous orange legwarmers in front of him and completely fails in stopping his overwhelmed eye from traveling away (far away!) from those monstrosities and up muscular legs, across the stomach of a god and over disgustingly well-worked shoulders.

In which Kakashi is a little broken and Gai is a lot himself. Don't know why swimming is the medium, but these crazy kids make it work.

There is something so viciously obvious in the way Kakashi is staring, body canted forward in his chair, right into Gai’s personal space. Which is saying something as the man hadn’t been aware he had such a thing as ‘personal space’.

Stede Bonnet doesn't know what happened to make his very cool neighbor act like such an ass! Even if he has a very pretty ass. And he's not going to stand for the man's boorish behavior! Which is a shame, because he kind of likes it...
Or: a sort of 5 times they had silly misunderstandings and 1 time they got it right.
