“You have a savings account for Chris?” The team gasps, Buck moves from around the kitchen counter, his heart in his stomach, bracing for the wrath of his best friend.
“You weren’t supposed to know about that.”
“Not the point, Buckley. What is this?” He shoves the opened mail into Buck’s chest. He reluctantly grabs it, looking down at crumbled paper showing the biggest secret he’s ever kept.
“You went through my mail.” Buck tries to counter but Eddie gives him that death glare that makes Buck weak in the knees for reasons he didn’t want to think about.
“You must not have changed the mailing address after you moved out and I didn't think to look who it was for until I saw a bank statement for an account I've never heard of.”
“I was going to tell you…eventually. But I was scared of what you’d think.”
“When? Buck, that's a big number in that account. When did you start it?”
“After, um, after Shannon died.”
“What.” Eddie gasps. “You-?”
“All I wanted was to take care of Chris. Of you.”
OR Buck made a lot of money from his miscellaneous jobs before the 118 and who better to give it to then his two favorite boys?

“I used to think you and Chris looked so similar. Sometimes I would forget you weren’t related. But I could still pretend. Pretend that Chris is yours too. But then I saw Theo. He is yours. Chris isn’t.”

Summary
When Eddie wakes up the first thing he notices is the large body laying opposite of him. Buck is on his side facing Eddie. The second thing he notices is the fact his fingers are once again on Buck’s pulse point. Third, Buck looks incredibly adorable when he sleeps. Eddie’s eyes roam over every part of Buck that’s visible. His curls lay across his forehead and Eddie feels an urge to brush them out of the way. Eddie wants nothing more than to move closer to Buck, for his head to find a home in the crook of his neck.

“Home?” Eddie has never been so confused before.

“Sory, I didn’t mean to assume, I just thought cause you’ve been dating so long that you would-” He trails off.
“Buck and I? Dating? Wait a minute. How many people think this?”
“This whole station… Are you guys not together?”
“No…” Eddie says looking around the station as if it had personally offended him.
“Sorry, man. We didn’t mean to assume, it’s just how you two act around each other, it just seemed like you were… you know, in love.”
“Why didn’t anyone say anything?"
“I don’t know. It didn’t really matter. You guys were happy and we thought it was cool. Anyone would kill for a connection like the two of you have.”OR
Eddie is the one to hear what Buck and him look like from an outsider perspective.

Theo hands Buck three dandelions.
"Oh, thank you Theo. I love them."
Theo shakes his head. "They're not for you. They're for you to give to Eddie." He points at Eddie, standing frozen with two stacks of toilet paper in his arms. "Eddie likes flowers."
"He does?" Buck asks, looking at Eddie curiously.
Eddie looks away, cheeks colouring. The two pendants under his shirt burn against his skin.
Theo nods enthusiastically. "He likes flowers and he likes you, so you should give him flowers Buck."
"Yeah Buck," Chris singsongs. "You should give him ~flowers~."

Buck adopts Theo. Eddie's Saint Christopher pendant suddenly has a companion.

The boys had mumbled something hushed to each other once the call ended before abruptly heading off in the direction of Bobby’s office. Less than a minute later they emerged, rushing down the stairs and out the station.
“What was that about?” Hen questioned Bobby as he appeared from his office.
“Family emergency, they’ll be back shortly,”
“Whose family? Buck or Eddies?” Chimney asked from the sofa.
“Yes,” Bobby responded, chuckling a little to himself.
